This Privacy Policy describes how DirectoryDPA (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit directorydpa.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
We collect limited information through normal use of the Site:
- Automatically collected information. When you visit the Site, our analytics provider (Google Analytics) records information your browser sends, including your approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the links you click, the time and duration of your visit, and the referring URL. IP addresses are anonymized before storage where supported by the provider.
- Information you provide. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We do not require account creation, and we do not collect names, phone numbers, addresses, financial information, or Social Security numbers through the Site.
- Search queries.Text you type into the Site’s search field is processed in your browser to navigate the Site. We do not store individual search queries linked to your identity.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- Understand which pages and programs are most useful so we can prioritize updates;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues;
- Respond to inquiries you send us by email; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixel tags) to enable basic functionality and to measure how visitors use the Site. Most cookies on the Site are first-party analytics cookies placed by Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.
Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the Site:
- Google Analytics — web analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Vercel— web hosting and content delivery.
- Supabase— database hosting for program listings and editorial content. We do not collect personal information from visitors into this database.
These providers may process limited technical data on our behalf in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information, and we do not participate in lead-generation programs or referral-fee arrangements with program administrators.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, when required by law, in response to a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DirectoryDPA, our users, or others.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information about you, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at tyler@directorydpa.com. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We retain analytics data for the default retention period set by our analytics provider. Email correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our records.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the Site, including the use of HTTPS for all pages. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Visitors
The Site is operated in the United States and intended for U.S. visitors. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
